WEC Week VII
We’re back in Ocala! After wrapping up our time in Venice at Fox Lea Farms, our entire team was excited to arrive at the World Equestrian Center and get settled. Our team kicked off our first week with strong, confident rounds.
Marni Bogdanoff and Galileo kicked off our first week in Ocala on a strong note. The pair earned a score of 85 to place second over fences and went on to win the flat, ultimately finishing the week Reserve Champion in the 12-14 Equitation. Marni also put in an excellent round in the THIS Children’s Medal 14 & Under. In the USHJA 2’9 Hunters, Galileo finished the week Reserve Champion in the division.
Darian Petillo had a fantastic first week in Ocala with Say It Right and Unlimited in the 3’3 Small Junior Hunters, consistently earning scores in the 80s. Say It Right received a score of 85 to place third, along with an additional sixth place finish, while Unlimited added a seventh place ribbon to round out a strong week in the hunter ring. Darian also made her 3’ Equitation debut with Coltrane, putting in several beautiful rounds. In the jumper ring, she partnered Chronicle 4 to a clear round and fourth place finish in the $200 1.00m Junior Jumpers.
Ella Petillo also enjoyed a successful week with her two mounts. Riding Indy de Muze D and El Nino, Ella had all clear rounds throughout the week. She and Indy de Muze D earned sixth place in the $150 0.90m Novice Junior Jumpers and went on to place third in the $400 0.95m Novice Junior Classic. With El Nino, Ella finished eleventh in the $500 0.70m Junior/Amateur Classic, wrapping up a consistent and productive week in the jumper ring.
Roshni Desai and Caracas 113 had a strong weekend in the equitation ring, earning a score of 85.5 to place second in the THIS Adult Medal and an 83 for fifth in the Ariat Adult Medal. The pair also put in several beautiful rounds in the 3’ Adult Equitation, earning ribbons both over fences and on the flat. Roshni also partnered Ascadam Z in the jumper ring, producing clear rounds in both the 0.90m Novice Amateur Jumpers and the 0.95m Novice Amateur Classic.
Emma Schweizer joined the team down in Florida for the weekend and had a great showing with Dowdstown Captain, putting in several solid rounds in the 1.00m/1.05 Junior Amateur Jumpers. Dowdstown Captain is currently available for sale or lease.
Scamander made a successful Large Children’s Pony debut with Rome Rehme. The pair earned first place in the under saddle and added two fifth place ribbons over fences. They also had a great performance in the $1,000 Classic, where Scamander finished second. A special thank you to Missy Jo Hollingsworth for sharing Rome with us. Kayla Wilson also enjoyed a great week with Scamander in the USHJA 2’6 Hunters, where the pair earned top ribbons throughout the division.
